As a kid, I loved it when my dad took us to McDonalds. It was always a nice treat, but now that I am a parent I haven't continued the tradition. So it had been quite a long time since I ordered a happy meal. One day after getting off at 6, and having to run around picking up prescriptions and waiting in the long line Kaiser, I decided to just stop at the McDonalds across the street for dinner. My son loved his Happy Meal, and was so excited to get a toy with dinner. Opening the Happy Meal, I soon realized that the meal had shrunk in size, compared to the ones I used to get at a kid. I was a little disappointed, but I then realized how cute the small packaging was and began to imagine my next project. McDonalds Play Meal.
I saved the Happy Meal box, fry container, and chicken nugget container. I cleaned them out and picked out my supplies. An old orange felt, cleaning shammy and yellow pipe cleaners. I cut the pipe cleaners to make fries. And cute the shammy to make chicken nuggets. (Gluing two pieces together to make it 3D) I then thought about what else I would need and it just wasn't right to have chicken nuggets without BBQ Sauce. I found an old nail polish remover pads container and began to design with sharpies. Lastly I added my sons old sippy cup to complete the meal. Now we get to have the Happy Meal fun at home!
