Greetings From Radiator Spring

Angel is a HUGE Cars fan. He has been collecting every character. We don't have all of them, but we do have a lot. He gets them for making good choices and listening all week in school and at home. I have gotten into his collection as well, and find myself checking the car aisle at Target to see if they have a character we don't have yet. I cut the back of the packaging to make Cars cards for a matching game. (helps keep track of cars as well as characters with tricky names like Shu Todoroki to name one.) Needless to say this is a cars household.

In the spirit of our cars collection, I decided to make a couple buildings from Radiator Springs, so he could have a place to play. I then decided to put them on a wood board I found. Eventually, I found myself making the whole town. I had to ask around for a second board, and finish the other buildings. Then, I even started to get down to tiny details. Well if I'm going to do something, I'm going to do it right! So here it is our version of Radiator Springs! (Want to eventually add canyons in back)
(Cozy Cone Motel,  Wheel Well Motor Court Restaurant, Mater's Salvage and Tow, Luigi's Casa Della Tires, Radiator Springs Courthouse (Firehouse), Ramone's House of Bodyart, Flo's V8 Cafe, Doc Hudson's Clinic, Sarge's Surplus Hut, Filmore's Taste-in, Lizzie's Curio Shop, Radiator Springs Drive-in, Tractor fence lot, and a patch of grass for the Stanley statue.

,

Small cozy cones for travelers, Mater has "junk" in his junkyard, table with oil set at Wheel Well, and Luigi has his leaning tower of tires and a tire stand.

Ramone's house is painted with chalkboard paint so Angel can change the design just as often as Ramone changes his paint, and Doc has a car lift to treat his patients just like in the movie. Sarge has his flag and Filmore has his peace sign.

Curio shop is full of interesting signs.

I also left a spot for the tractors and Mater's tractor tipping fun (right across Mater's Salvage and tow. We still need those cars, however.
